In between three trees lie these
Two, together always. Resting in shade,
Beneath green canopies. I see a love made
Whole, in the continuing turn of time
And, yet, far beyond.
Shallow, in soft soil. No burdening toil.
Love binds laughing souls, bound in faith.
Grace to grace, their Lord does not separate;
Rather, there’s a bond only He provides,
Unbroken by time.
East to West. From crest to crest
The Sun; The Moon— again, again.
Rain and dew. From roots to shoots:
The Grass; The Leaves—again, again.
Passing. Weathering. Withering.
Legacy passed on: weathering the dawn;
Not withering at dusk. Eternally unbound.
Two dear Darlings with a tale unfound;
Worthy to be told, to be sung. A tale of love
Unspoiled by time.
In between three trees lie these
Two, together always. Awaiting that day
When all will be called and carried away,
When body and soul will unite anew,
Somewhere beyond time.
