Here is a clerihew or two
For me and for you,
To commemorate this day
When we ought to give thanks.
Today is the day that we give thanks
For friends, family, pies, and cakes.
But, we mustn’t forget to give thanks for the past
Week when we could still fit in our pants.
And now we begin family Christmas traditions
With Harry, Marv, Uncle Frank, and Kevin.
Oh yes… trees, lights, and cookies too;
All valuable parts of our holiday tune.
You are right. Not quite a feast.
clerihews aren’t feasts in the least.
Just a quartet of lines—
Two sets of couplet rhymes.
